Within the context of Real-World-Data (RWD), population models typically feature patient cohorts, or a common shared characteristic within the sample population (eg, diabetic and non-diabetic patients), transition probabilities, or the likelihood of individuals within the population to transition from one health state to another (eg, healthy to diseased), time horizons, or the period of time over which a population is being modeled (eg, patient lifetime), and impact of intervention, defined as the potential for an intervention (eg, treatment, policy, etc) to affect the population being modeled.
